Chiropractor
Joshua Koenig D.C.
Chiropractic Healed My Migraines
Playing football in high school, Dr. Josh experienced some injuries that left him with painful migraines. After months of taking medication without any relief, his mother convinced him to see a local chiropractor.
His migraines disappeared after a few weeks of consistent chiropractic adjustments and he hasn’t had one since. That was over fifteen years ago.
Treating the Cause of Pain
Before becoming a family chiropractor, Dr. Josh had been working in a pharmacy for three years. He would see the same revolving door of people come in for medication refills each month. He was alarmed and concerned by the use of prescriptions to cover up their symptoms and not fix the deeper problem. By learning more from his chiropractor, Josh discovered how chiropractic treatments address the root cause of pain to give real life changes. The treatment of diseases without the use of drugs to simply mask the pain sparked the desire to pursue a career in chiropractic care.
Trained to Analyze Health
Dr. Josh attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, which is known in chiropractic circles as the “Fountainhead of Chiropractic.” The college was named after it founder, D.D. Palmer, the inventor of chiropractic treatment. At the Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Josh learned about the motion of each muscle and joint to enable him to analyze and adjust specific areas of the body. By working in a community outreach clinic during his time at Palmer, he was able to treat patients who couldn’t afford chiropractic care at the school clinic.
Dr. Josh was also chosen to join a trip that opened a free clinic in India, where he treated children and adults at no charge. The group spread chiropractic care to more than 10,000 people!
Enjoying Our Local Area
In Dr. Josh’s spare time, he plays intramural sports including football, softball and basketball. He tries to stay as active as possible outside of his family chiropractic practice. Originally from Fort Dodge, Iowa, Dr. Josh fell in love with Plymouth MA after moving there to work with a number of well-known chiropractors in the Hartford, CT area. He enjoys fishing in our beautiful ocean and hiking in Vermont and New Hampshire. In the summer, you can find him on White Horse Beach, soaking up the sun.
Community Involvement
Supporting our local community is important to Dr. Josh. He is a big brother in the Boys and Girls Club. He also serves on the local board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the YMCA in [PJ]. Dr. Josh started Hope for the Holidays, a charity that partners local businesses to offer support to a local family in our community in December.
Chiropractor
JASON GRIMARD D.C.
Dr. Jason graduated from Westfield State University in 2012 with a degree in Human movement and a concentration in sports medicine. While his interest in preventative care continued to build, the all-encompassing field of Chiropractic became a new career choice, Dr. Jason decided to attend Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange Florida.
While in the sunshine state, he pursued extracurricular studies and seminars in Internal medicine as well as the technique Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP). As a member of Palmer Florida’s CBP club he took roles within the club from executive officer to president. He expanded his understanding of Chiropractic Biophysics becoming Basic Certified through IdealSpine.com Health Center in Boise Idaho. This technique incorporated a greater understanding in postural distortions and spinal deformities such as scoliosis.
Alternative approach
Dr. Jason’s connection to abnormal spinal alignment comes from experience; noting his mother who has suffered with the condition of scoliosis for all her life causing numerous complications as a result, including internal complications. As a doctor of the spine he felt it was necessary to understand the biomechanics of this deformity and the approaches of conservative care of all ages.
As a former native of western Massachusetts Dr. Jason is excited to join the crew at Koenig Family Chiropractic here on the coast and looks forward to the many activities the greater Boston area has to offer. He enjoys working out, mountain biking, boating, paddle boarding, hiking, water skiing, cooking and spending time at his family’s lake house in New Hampshire throughout the summer.
CHIROPRACTOR
JESSIE SWINK D.C.
Dr. Jessie graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2014 with a degree in Nutritional Sciences. The field of Chiropractic became of interest to him after his collegiate teammate found resolution to his chronic hip pain through his chiropractor.
This inspired Dr. Jessie to pursue chiropractic as a profession. In the beginning of 2015, Dr. Jessie moved to Marietta, Georgia and attended Life University. He graduated from Life University with a Doctorate in Chiropractic in the summer of 2018.
Dr. Jessie takes a full body approach to ensure his patients get the care they need to restore proper function throughout the whole body, including extremities. While in school Dr. Jessie had a focus on family-based practice with a passion to help pediatric patients and expecting parents. This led to him getting his certification in Webster technique which is a technique which aims to re-establish balance to an expecting mother's pelvis to allow for an ideal environment for the little ones to flourish.
As a new team member at Koenig Family Chiropractic, Dr. Jessie is excited to contribute to the excellent care this office has provided Plymouth and its surrounding communities for over a decade. Dr. Jessie looks forward to working as a guiding hand to help patients live a healthier and more functional lifestyle.
As a native of Connecticut, Dr. Jessie has enjoyed returning to the Northeast and the variety of seasons it provides. On top of supporting all the Boston sport's teams throughout the year, he also enjoys working out, being outdoors, golfing, playing intramural basketball and cooking.
